🤓 Did you know? Pacman frogs (horned frogs, genus Ceratophrys) have an extraordinarily powerful bite for an amphibian. Their bite force relative to body size is comparable to some predatory dinosaurs. They will attempt to eat anything that moves near them, including other frogs, small mice, and keepers' fingers.

Can you put a heat mat under a Pacman frog's tank?
No, never underneath. Pacman frogs burrow to the floor of the substrate, so a mat below the tank can burn a frog sitting right on top of it. Mount the mat on the side, on a thermostat, or use a low-wattage overhead bulb.
What causes impaction in Pacman frogs, and is it serious?
Yes, it can be fatal. A Pacman frog strikes explosively and often swallows whatever is on the ground with the prey: loose substrate, sand-coated feeders, or an item too big to pass.
