The eggs of some species can remain viable in soil for years, hatching after the mother is long dead, mimicking plant seeds so perfectly that ants carry them underground.

- Keeping the leaves alive
- Cut stems standing in a jar of water stay good for days. Block the jar's opening so a nymph cannot fall in and drown.Setup guide →
- Water
- They drink droplets from misting, not from a dish, and an open reservoir drowns small nymphs.Health guide →
- Failed molts
- The single biggest risk, from too little vertical space or low humidity in the days before. It cannot be treated after the fact; the enclosure height and the misting are the whole prevention.Health guide →
- Mold

- Handling
- Grasp the body or thorax, never a leg: they drop legs to escape, and an adult's lost leg is permanent. A few large species pinch if not used to hands. A dropped leg, a rigid drop, or a defensive scent all mean the session was too rough.Handling guide →
- You will get eggs
